Not exaclty sure how to describe this surge of inspiration concisely..I can only think of words that help me to verbalize the mood that these images are projecting: scandanavian, supernatural, night sky, solitude, ceremony, white magic...does this help? Let me try to illustrate this for you:
- Fever Ray's video for "When I Grow Up"- collage of ratty found objects, strings and ribbons that move with her dancing, detailed layering
- Maison Martin Margiela weird draped "bag lady" dress, light blue eyeshadow, and that giant silver ring around her ear.
- Lykke Li's shaggy fur coat, hands covered with silver rings
- StarmanMike's beautiful images of the night sky, capturing stars and hazy mountains.
- My favorite Bjork album cover for Debut- fuzzy speckled sweater, tiny jewels under her eyes.
- Balenciaga fall 2007 white eyebrow makeup- similar to Karin Andersson's tribal-ish makeup in a Fever Ray photo shoot.
- Lena Scheynius photography..solemn, black on black clothes, dark lighting, time of day when it's almost dark.
