Fashionable Food: Laduree Macarons

Last night was the first snow (in October?!) so I think everyone needs some cheering up. Laduree macaroons are the cutest food I've ever seen and even if the idea of them doesn't cheer you up, I'm not sure what will.
Laduree macaroons are pretty much food celebrities. They contributed to the french chic atmosphere in Marie Antoinette, been featured in many perfume ads such as Juicy Couture & "Pleasures" by Estee Lauder, & have been served at the hottest parties in the fashion world. The reason? First of all, their colors are so delicious looking, you almost want to wear them as jewelery. Laduree macaroons come in so many different fabulous flavours, it would be so hard to pick one! Flavours such as mango jasmine, rose petal, orange blossom, & java ginger influence the color of the macaroon.

Laduree macaroons are based in Paris, and they get their name from the place they're made- Laduree tea salons. The first Laduree salons were established in Paris, but there are now Laduree salons in places like Tokyo & Monaco. Unfourtuneately, there aren't any Laduree shops in North America, but don't cry just yet! If you have some free time this frosty weekend, you can create some of your very own macaroons! The funnest part about making them yourself is that you can create new & funky flavours- be creative! I found a fantastic step-by-step recipe (with photos!) at .
latartinegourmande.com.

I'll post my pics when I make them :D
Good luck & stay warm!

Fall Room Transformation!

This fall, I realized that my room was really stressing me out. What with school being back on my schedule, I don't really have stress to spare. I realized that, as much as I love them, my posters all over my walls made my room feel smaller. I took every single poster off one at a time and put them in a little pocket folder. As you can probably see from the picture, the room looks sooo much brighter and less cramped.

What am I planning to do with my new wall space? Well, I like it plain for now, but I'm planning on painting very soon. I want to do more cool colors like grey & tiffany blue. Grey; boring, I know, but then colorful accents can be added later on.

Tips For a Fresh Fall Room

- Clean out clutter! Define clutter? It's anything you haven't touched/looked at for at least 2 weeks.

- Burn some candles. Scented candles make your space feel "3-D". Scents in a room let you feel the room with all your senses. Just like people, rooms like having signature scents too! Just remember to never leave a candle unattended.

- Go through your magazines & make a lookbook. Magazines take up so much space, when you only really read them once. Most people (including me) just keep certain magazines because they have a certain article or fashion shoot they like. This is where the lookbook comes in! Cut out articles, beauty tips, clothing and outfits, and little tidbits that inspire you. Paste or clip these magazine clippings into a 3-ring binder, make a cool cover, & voila! A database of all things that you adore!

- Keep. It. Clean. I know. Room cleaning is tedious, but trust me, it's worth it in the long run. Try cleaning when you're feeling bright & refreshed with no homework. It's such an awful feeling to come home from school, tired and stressed, and have to chill in a messy room. Cleaning doesn't just involve picking up your clothes off the floor- Vacume too! Your parents will be very impressed. Do I see an allowance raise in your future?

Good luck with your new fall project!
