I like little details here...maps, hooks, sketches, flags, notes... Weird collections of little things, kept because they mean something to you. The kind of material object that actually has a meaning to it, like a history to it and that's why you keep it. Paper that didn't have any value before is now being showcased on your wall because it now features thoughts from a friend. Or a weird out of date map you found for free after a garage sale packed up for the day...that's the best kind of consumerism.
