I love the feeling of wearing a new article of clothing- who doesn't? It's like I'm walking on a cloud and nothing could make me think my outfit doesn't rock. I adore the idea of re-inventing an article of clothing, without actually altering it of course (we all remember Marge Simpson's stint with that infamous Chanel suit).
Tying, accessorizing, and contrasting with other garments can resuscitate a wardrobe staple. Still lost on inspiration? Try raiding your dad/brother's closet to find flannel shirts (off duty model chic), oversized blazers (think Balmain & Alexander Wang s/s 09), and boyfriend jeans (curren/elliot) to spruce up your look.
Adding a boxy blazer to an otherwise slim-fitting outfit adds a modern element. Susan Cernek posing in Paris (Street Peeper) | MK grunging out in her flannel shirt. Mary-Kate in tied flannel (Teen Vogue) |
Three cheers for four day weekends! I haven't necessarily "taken advantage' of the time, but relaxing, and checking off some of my Easter "to-dos" is way more fun. Sasha Pivovarova (@ Louis Vuitton) is totally channeling her inner Easter Bunny, while Frank the Bunny from Donnie Darko is going all out with his costume. Who would've predicted that a rabbit would be such a trendetter?
My Easter Activities:
-Made cute Magnolia-esque cupcakes (merci Betty Crocker)!
- Dye eggs with traditional Ukranian dye kit.
- Dress up in pastel colors.
-Watch Donnie Darko (Hel-lo, Frank the bunny, get it?)

I was flipping through my old magazines the other day when I came across this editorial from spring 2006. It's super girly and romantic- two of my favorite stand-bys for spring. The makeup is soft and pink and is contrasted by the disheveled half-up-dos. I also really love the use of many models in this spread, as opposed to just one or two of modern editorials. I hope these pics serve as an inspiration for more than just me!
